Day Trip to Cambridge!

Jeff and I decided to take a spontaneous day trip to Cambridge the other day. It was a short train ride away so we said why not....

We started out the day with a Hop On Hop off bus to get a good feel of what the city had to offer. It was also a great way to learn a little of the history of the city.

Our route!

The famous Kings College view.... and boy is it breathtaking!

Beautiful fall weather!!!

Jeffrey enjoying the view from the top of the bus
and soaking up all Cambridge has to offer :)

This is definitely a city for cycle fans! There are around 100,000 people that live here and approximately 30,000 bikes, which all seem to be parked at the train station.  I have no idea how you would ever find your bike there are so many!!!

There were also Barbarians of Britain!

The other side of Kings College

St. Catherine's College

Beautiful architecture!

Random cows in the park...

Punting on the River Cam... Per wikipedia "punt is a flat-bottomed boat with a square-cut bow, designed for use in small rivers or other shallow water.Punting refers to boating in a punt. The punter generally propels the punt by pushing against the river bed with a pole. A punt should not be confused with a gondola, which is propelled by an oar rather than a pole." We didn't end up punting, however it was very entertaining to watch others have a go at it!

                                Being silly!

At one of the last round churches left standing....
It was built after the Crusades

We stumbled into a delicious smelling fudge factory... yummm!

And we rounded the day off with a few pints before heading back to London :)

It was overall a great day. Cant' for more spontaneous adventures with you Jeffrey Pike!
