Aunt Angie & Fun in London!!!

We had another very special visitor come visit us... Aunt Angie!!! We had a fun week hanging out and I loved showing her some of my favorite places in London and her showing and opening my eyes to some of the great sacred music that is right at our door steps!

The first evening, we went to one of my favorite places for girls night, Champagne and Fomage! The next day she ventured out and saw some of the Tower of London and confirmed it was one of her favorites... must run in the family! She saw the crown jewels about 3 times :) For dinner, we went to on of our local favorites, Boma Green. There was great live music and was a perfect end to the day.

I got a special treat for us to snack on all week since it was Easter!
Saturday, Jeff and I walked with Aunt Angie on what I like to call our classic Westminister walk, to Buckingham Palace, through green park,  Westminister Abbey, Big Ben and Piccidilly Circus.  Here are few photos!

Westminister Abby
Gordon's wine bar was perfect finish to the day. It was packed but we were lucky enough to grab some chairs outside for a glass of wine and cheese

Sunday was a very special day as well, as it was Palm Sunday. Aunt Angie and I headed to Westiminister Abby for a church service then over toward the City for afternoon tea and an organ recital at St. Paul's Catherdal. (Jeffrey was off to Switzerland)
Here is one of my favorite views of the city!
I was able to sneak a shot from inside Westminister without getting caught!
Drinking tea like queens for the day :)
Just another beautiful view of St. Pauls!

On Monday, Aunt Angie visited Kensington Palace and the National Gallery.
We saw the new art that replaced the blue cock in Trafalgar Square... the horse skeleton with a London Stock Exchange ticker on the 4th pillar. Not sure it is much better than the blue cock, so good thing they are only up for 18 months at a time!
After wondering through the museums, we went to have some proper fish and chips! You can't leave London without trying it once :) After dinner, we were in for a real treat with a concert at St. Martins in the Fields. I have seen crowds near this church in the past but never knew what it was all about. Aunt Angie was quick to spot it on google maps so we immediately booked! and I am so glad that we did. The concert was broken into 2 sections, the first was a modern piece, it was the first time it was played in the UK and the composure was there in the church. The second half was composed of more classical pieces and it was all very moving and lovely music!
Glowing after hearing the music at St. Martins in the Field. I have to say, it was a great last night to finish off her trip to London! I loved having you visit and thank you so much for introducing me to St. Martin's in the Field!

Here are a few other pictures from around the time Aunt Angie visited. I am very lucky to work near St. Pauls and we just happen to see the end of the parade to celebrate the end of the war in Iraq. The whole Royal family was in attendance and they had lunch at Gild Hall. I just couldn't pass up on the photo opportunity though!

Jeffrey treated me to another play on evening - the Mouse Trap. It is the longest running play in London.... hard to believe there have been almost 26,000 performances!

There are many things still on our bucket list... so we decided to tick a few more off on a sunny weekend!
