Vevey & Geneva Switzerland

Jeff has been super lucky to have a 2 week job in Switzerland every year... and I just happen to be luckily enough to be married to him and get to visit over the weekend :) Not only is it in just in Switzerland but in Vevey... which is also called one of the 'Pearls of the Swiss Riveria!'
The first full day I was there was Good Friday, so we were able to explore and had some sunny weather for it. All my time spent on Pinterest also paid off here... I was able to find a beautiful little castle, wine museum and cafe for us to wonder around that was about 30 minutes away.
Chateau D'Agile
Everyone seemed to have a really good time

Got to play some more with the camera settings!
I think this is my one of my favorite pictures from the trip!
Paula and Roberto
Jade
just breath taking!
After hiking around in the fields and sipping wine, we decided to finish off the night with a traditional fondue cheese and grilled steak on a rock.

Unfortunately Saturday was not too great weather wise... but we still tried to make the most of it. Jeff and I did a tour of the other beautiful castle Chillion.

On Sunday, we all went out on a scenic boat ride around Lake Geneva.
The pictures turned out a little hazy... but it was beautiful and very peaceful on the boat
Another good view of the Chillion castle
After the boat ride, we decided to go for another view point and head up the funicular and look down on the lake.

all one can say to those views is WOW!
We slowly meandered our way back and were able to catch a beautiful sunset on the lake
The next day was Easter Monday and it was time for me to head back to London. The flights worked out just so for me to spend a day in Geneva before heading back though ;)

I spent most of my time at the UN Headquarters on a tour.
It was very interesting to see the place where so much happens. This is a general purpose meeting that is used for a variety of things.
Our guide showed us the infamous gift from Spanish... this ceiling. It is currently the most expensive gift ever received from a country and it was donated in 2008... right at the time of the financial crisis.
View from the new wing looking out over to the older wing of the facility.
There are good reminders all over the older wing where this was not the first attempt to establish an organization to 'promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and serenity.' Of course this is a picture of the League of Nations symbol on the door to a big conference room.
This is a pano view of a room that is used only for peace negotiations.
After the tour, I was able to make it downtime and spend a little time on the harbor and end the day  and Switzerland fun with a beautiful view!
